Another Member at the Dinner Table

I totally meant to post this last week, but somehow it escaped me. I don't know why; I only work full time, sponsor extra curriculars, work out (ya, you remember), and have a 10 week old baby! Not to mention I have a very busy cyber-schedule (message boards, blogging, e-mailing, surfing-addicted much?!?) Okay, but seriously to get to the point of this post I wanted to let you all know that KB and I have went from a party of 2 at our dinner table to a party of 3! We purchased Boston a high chair a couple weeks ago and he now joins us at the dinner table anytime we are having a meal, and he loves it! We were waiting to purchase a highchair until B was going to actually be able to use it, but everytime we would go to the table and put him down in his bouncy seat, glider, swing-whatever, he would get so sad. The highchair we purchased has several different height settings and reclining positions, so that even if he cannot sit up on his own he can sit in the chair comfortably. He will sit at the table with us and laugh and coo at our conversations-it is soooo cute! Here are some pics, enjoy!

I actually break a sweat....yuck

Your eyes have not deceived you my friends, you have read correctly. After 9 weeks of wishing and praying that the oh-so-not sexy baby weight would melt away in my sleep, I bit the bullet and joined the gym. I was also motivated after seeing Jennifer Lopez's trainer on television demonstrating some post-baby exercises I could be doing, but of course I liked my method of wishing and hopin' better;-) I'm not gonna lie, I really don't care for the whole "fitness" thing. I mean seriously, I don't see how some people would actually consider working out a hobby-more like work to me. Anyway, for the past 2 weeks I have been going to the gym every other morning @ 5am(except weekends, no way jose!) Everyone seems to think that the craziest part of it all is that I would wake up extra early to go to the gym when I completely dread it. Here are some of my reasons in no specific order:

1. I would NEVER go in the evening after work
2. This way Keith has to get up and feed Boston at 6am
3. There are not as many people there to try and impress with my skills;-)
4. I just want to get it over with first thing.

My plan is to lose 25 lbs, making me 5 lbs less than before I got pregnant. I haven't really set a time frame that I would like this to happen, but ASAP would be fine with me...hint, hint. If the scale at the gym is calibrated correctly, I have already lost 3 lbs-Woo hoo! I will keep you all posted. Watch out Jennifer Lopez, I don't care that you had twins and still gained as much weight as me....we'll see how we look in the end;-)

B's New Trick

Something totally exciting happened this weekend. Boston rolled over!! Saturday afternoon I was playing with him on the floor for his "tummy time". I laid him down on his tummy with his arms propped up underneath him and he started to lean to the right until him turned completely over! At first I thought it was an accident (but I was still excited!), so I returned him to his tummy position and he did it again, and again, and again! The video isn't that great because I was trying to put him on his tummy and catch him rolling over, but you get the point. Mark this down, 9 weeks old Boston rolled over:)

Babies, babies, babies!

My sis was in town this weekend for her "Fort Worth" baby shower. She is expecting Ainsley Michaela to arrive in mid-June. Boston and Ainsley will be right around 4 months apart in age. This is certainly the year of the baby in our family! Steph's baby shower was at my house and she was able to spend time with some friends that she doesn't often get to see. Not to mention, she got some really great things! Afterwards, we went to the Botanical Gardens and took some pictures. Here is a cute one of Boston with his Aunt & Uncle:

And here are some of Boston and I... you know I cannot pass up a photo opportunity!

This picture cracks me up! Look at B's face, he was even making that cute cooing sound!

Pre-Kinders Make Me Laugh!

As you all know I started back to work 2 weeks ago and apparently while I was out on maternity leave, my class LOST THEIR MINDS!!! In all fairness to the wee ones, it is Spring time and the troops are always restless this time of year. On top of this, I am sure that me (aka: The Drill Sargent) being gone for 7 weeks did not help them to maintain their self control whatsoever. Upon my return I found myself reliving the first two weeks of school (this is when you really have to train them on how to behave like a civilized person) for the second time this year. The only difference this time was I was not as forgiving nor did I play Mrs. Nicegirl. I know what you are thinking, "Geesh lady, you teach Pre-K why don't you give these kids a break and let them be kids?" My answer to you is this: "If I do not teach these children manners or how to behave in school, they will turn in to the rude and selfish pre-teens and teens that no adult ever wants to encounter. Trust me, teach it to them early and they will not ever forget it:) In saying all of this, even when I am spending more time than I would like watching 4 and 5 year olds with their heads down on their tables for a "think about it" I am still able to laugh when they say things like this conversation that took place in my class on my second day back and about the third "think about it" of the day. (The little boy is a transfer in to my class from a different class on campus.)

Boy-"Uh!!! You mean!"
Girl-(Hands on hips)"Caulin, Mrs. Borg can be WAAAAAAY meaner than this."
Rest of Class-"Ya, she can be WAAAAAY meaner."
Me-"Yup, I can be....do you want to find out? (wink)"
Class-"No Ma'am" (Yes, they even said Ma'am, see it does work!)

I could not help but laugh, and of course dismiss them from their "think about it" because I think they all got the point:) I am happy to say that this past week was so much better and I really am happy to be back teaching. Gotta love those pre-kinders, they make me laugh daily!

Little Bunny Foo Foo!

Remember when I said that Keith asked me if I was going to dress Boston up for every holiday??? Well, for Easter we went over to Mom's house and I figured that since Boston was too young to hunt eggs with Brayden this year, he would just play the part of the Easter Bunny. For this reason, he sported his ever-so-cute bunny outfit complete with a cotton tail on the behind! Isn't he adorable?!?! Just looking at him in this get up made me smile....He looks so sweet and cuddly (and I am sure he will kill me one day for making him wear this!) but I couldn't resist ;) Even KB had to admit that he looked pretty darn cute...

The Best Laugh EVER!

So, he did it! My baby boy finally laughed :) I have been waiting weeks for this day to come. He has been smiling for a couple of weeks now, but he just started laughing a few days ago. It is so cute! Not to mention his laugh is contagious, when he laughs you are bound to start giggling too. I will post some video of him laughing so you all can hear him. He cracks himself up just like his mama! I am so glad to be blessed with such a happy baby.......and such a cutie!!
