Wait a minute....who taught him THIS?!?

So, we are sitting in the living room the other night playing and talking and then all of the sudden Boston throws his ball acroos the coffee table:

I give you exhibit A-
Then, I said "Go get it Bubba!" And he proceeds to climb on TOP of the table to retrieve his ball!!
I immediately looked at Keith and said, "Did YOU teach him how to do that?!" Keith's response= hysterical laughter and then "No, but I think it is funny!"

At this point he actually stood up for a second, but it was so quick I wasn't able to get photographic evidence.

That little toot climbed all the way over and got his ball. Then he threw it back across the coffee table and climb back over! Do you think we have our hands full?!

Boy oh boy! At least he's cute :)

Just hose-ing around....

I decided to take a break for one night from the Chicago photos. I didn't think you all would mind because in place of the Borg Chi-Town experience 2009, I give you Boston a-la water hose!

Tonight B discovered the hose. Well, actually I introduced him to it. He was playing with his splash pad.......kind of. He wouldn't actually get on the splash pad, rather he was playing
around it. He wasn't getting wet at all expect for his hands and occasionally his feet (which was the whole point of us putting his bathing suit on, etc.) So, I went and picked up the water hose and started creating a sprinkler by putting my finger over the spout. He was intrigued and high-tailed it over to see what I was doing. I then sat the hose down and walked away (and picked up my camera!) He had so much fun!

This is a photo of B-Man picking up the hose for the first time. He is still trying to figure out if I am actually allowing this to take place.... Look how serious?!?
Splish, Splash!

By the end of this hose experiment he was bending his head down and soaking himself! I didn't get any great photos of that because I had my camera set on the wrong shutter speed, phooey. Oh well, if this heat continues (of course it will, we're in TX!) I am sure that there will be other evenings spent in the hose! Have a great night!

P.S. Sweet Savannah had surgery this morning. She is the only sista in a set of quadruplets that live in the metroplex. If you want to head over to her Mama's Blog and leave an encouraging comment, I know that they would love it.

A little MORE Chicago...

Are you ready for some more Chicago?! Well, ready or not here it comes at ya :) Let me say again what a GREAT time we had and that we wish we could have stayed at least one day more. There were a couple things I really wanted to do (1. shop more, 2. go see Oprah's Studios) and I am sure there were things that KB would have liked to do as well. Anyway, here are the photos of dinner our first night and the aquarium on the 2nd day.

Boston and I waiting for a table at Weber Grill. Keith found it to be just okay, but I thought it was tasty. Also, it had the perfect atmosphere for a little boy that barely had a nap and was mucho cranky (although he appears quite happy in this photo), trust me he became Mr. Cranky Pants soon after we were seated. It was nice and LOUD!

Every morning Keith would wake up and take Boston across the street to Corner Bakery and pick up breakfast. Giving me a little time to sleep in. They have some very good breakfast selections and great coffee. We were all pleased with our breakfast.

After breakfast, Keith took Boston swimming in the hotel pool while I got ready for the day. Here B is in his bathing suit getting ready for his swim. Remember what I said about the paci's?! This game was called him whining for someone to get his pacifier out of his pack and play and then throwing it back in to be retrieved, sounds fun right?!

He discovered the wipes in his diaper bag and thought it was hilarious to pull them all out and blow his nose on each individual one....niiiiiiice.

The Shedd Aquarium. This place was awesome! We really enjoyed ourselves here, even though it was super crowded. Turns out it was a community "Free" day meaning for general admission there was no charge (typically it is $25). You can imagine the line we encountered! Luckily, everyone that had a stroller was put in a separate line and our wait was not long at all! Score!

Boston at the shark tank waiting for a shark to swim by. He would squeal with excitement when one would!

B-Man was all about those fishes! Yea! Show me more, show me more!!

This was a turtle that was on display in the basement of the aquarium. Boston was scared to touch it at first (he thought it was real!) but then he saw another little girl riding it so he went for it! I love this photo!

Part of the aquarium had a glass floor that you could stand on and the fish would swim right under your feet! Boston thought this was super-cool!

Okay, that was part of our second day at the aquarium. When we left the aquarium KB and Boston fed some birds ( I was WAAAAAAY far away, remember I don't like birds- especially feeding them!) and then we walked all the way back to our hotel down Michigan Avenue. I took LOTS of photos so I think I will save those for my next post. Then, hopefully I will wrap up Chicago and begin posting all the things we've done since being home!

Night!

And now for a little CHICAGO!!

Yea! I am finally posting about out Chicago trip in full, yippee! We returned home a week ago today and I figured if I didn't do it today, I probably never would! The reason being I have taken so many funny photos that I want to post of Boston and I know if I went ahead and post them that I would not return to the 500+ photos from our trip. Don't worry, I am NOT posting all 500 here (I don't think I have enough blogger memory for that) but I will post enough for you to get the idea of how much fun we had in this GREAT city! We will definitely be heading back real soon. Just not in the winter because I hear it is fuh-reeeee-zzzzing in the winter!
P.S. This was also B's first time to fly and he did really well. We didn't buy him a seat, but luckily on the way up the plane wasn't full so he had his own seat.

Here he is during take off (that is why he has his paci) with his Daddy. We are trying to only give it to him when he sleeps, but this trip kind of threw that off because we kept him out late and when he got cranky we just gave it to him. So now that we are back home he seems to think he can just have in whenever...remember those tantrums I have been tweeting about?!

On the cab ride from the Airport to the Hotel. He didn't take a nap AT ALL on the trip up. He was one sleepy dude, for sure. One minute he was talking and playing and the next he just fell over on Keith's lap!

Refreshed from his 20 minute power nap and dressed and ready for the game. GO CUBS! We took the red line train (I forgot to get a photo!) But, in my own defense it is kind of stressful getting a stroller on and off the train when it is standing room only! I'm a public transportation novice, cut me some slack.

View from the front of the stadium. This was actually taken as we left the game. I wish it was a little more centered, but it was taken by a real nice lady so I can't complain. About the photo op: There were all these men standing out in front offering to use our camera and take a photo. They all made me really uncomfortable and I kept refusing all of there offers. Finally, this lady was taking a photo of her own family and I asked if she would take ours as well. It was a good thing I didn't let one of those guys take it because I heard him tell another couple that had let him (using there own camera mind you) that it would be $16 for his services!! Are you kidding me?! They actually paid him! He used THEIR camera and everything! Call me crazy, but that seemed ridiculous to me.

This was taken as we walked in to the game. This is a building across the street from the field that looks in to the outfield. So cool!

Here is the view from behind home plate. We stood here for a good 10 minutes before we were asked to move. We just bought standing room only tickets, but it was great because we got to walk around and see a little bit of everything.

Here is Boston enjoying a snack while KB and I chowed on some nachos! Yummy! I was starving by the time we got to the game from traveling all day.

This was a 3 year old boy that was playing these buckets as drums outside the stadium. He was AWESOME! He threw his drum sticks up in the air and twirled them and caught them and never missed a beat. He had quite the audience gathered.

This is us back at the hotel after the game. Boston wanted to touch each one of these chandeliers that he saw.....there were A LOT!

Mr. B being silly in the hotel room. We were on the 14th floor and he was insistent on pushing the elevator button each time we rode.

Phew! That was just the first part of our 1st day!! I will post the rest tomorrow, and then finish it up tomorrow night. I said I might have to post in shifts, and I was right. Stay tuned!

What really Didn't Happen...

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama in all of her fabulousness as a way to share your most embarrassing moments while pretending that they never happened. I have to admit I have fallen WAY behind in posting a "Not Me", but it certainly isn't because I haven't done anything crazy or embarrassing lately! Rather, I have been soooo busy doing crazy and embarrassing things, that I have not been able to find the time to sit down and blog about them;) But, here you have it folks- anything and everything that you did or didn't want to know that I of course, didn't do....

Last week we left for Chicago to have a little Father's Day Celebration for KB, and of course Boston and I enjoyed ourselves equally as well. The night before the trip, being the organized wonder woman that I am (ha!) I did not realize that I DON'T have a valid copy of my son's birth certificate!! Eeeek! I would never let that slip my mind, not me!

Luckily, not one person asked to see proof that this child that we were taking across the country was indeed ours and no one mentioned a birth certificate etc. in any airport we passed through! After being somewhat releived, I was not just as appalled that they didn't ask as I was when I realized I didn't have a copy, not me!

While visiting the wonderful Aquarium in Chicago, I did not wish I had made different clothing arrangments when my son did not pull my strapless shirt completely down while in the middle of a tantrum exposing myself to anyone that was near! I would never be so careless in choosing my attire and my son would never ever throw a tantrum, right?! Not Me!

Then, I did not find myself in the middle of a "Facebook" argument with about 5 other people (that I don't know) over a funny comment I made on a friends page. I am way too mature to spend any length of time (hours... :)) trying to plan what I was going to say in response. Only to find myself replying with a simple, "I was joking, duh". Nope, not me I am way wittier than that!

Finally, back from our trip and shopping in a local craft store I did not give in to Boston's whining and let him hold a bottle of craft paint while I searched for a specific color. I did not figure that because the paint had a seal on it that it would be near impossible for him to open. Then, I did not smell the familiar odor of PAINT and look over to see my son with light brown craft paint ALL over himself! Noooooo! That would never happen to me! Of course, I did not swipe the bottle from him and place it back on the shelf like it never happened and high tailed it to the check out with my paint covered son, because that would just be wroooong. Not Me!

WOW...I feel much better now :) Enjoy your Monday!

This is My DaDa....

Boston LOVES his DaDa soooo much, just ask him. Anyone who hangs around us has heard the question, "Whose baby are you?" about 50 zillion times;) The answer is always the same, "DaDa". Sometimes he whispers it, sometimes he screams, and every once in a while he will say it with a British accent...I'm serious;) He definitely loves him some DaDa time!

Happy Father's Day Honey! Thank you for being such a great Daddy to our little man, I Love You!

New Blog Address

From what I understand about blogger, you guys should be redirected to my new blog domain. However, if you typed in my address as you normally do and you are looking at something a little funny then try this on for size:
www.theborgbrood.com

That is my new address:) If that doesn't work for you then please leave me a comment and I can try and figure out what the deal is. See you on the new site! Actually, nothing is new about it. It looks completely the same other than a new address. Maybe I should do something about that... ;)

Chi-Town, A little Tease...

We returned home from Chicago on Wednesday after a FABULOUS time in the windy city (which really wasn't that windy in my opinion...) Anyway, we had a blast. I mean, really. We had a great time, and wish we could have stayed longer...it was that fun. The time flew by (no pun intended) remember, I said it really wasn't so windy there;)

I took OVER 550 photos....I am serious:) So, I haven't had time to go through and edit all of them obviously. But, I wanted to give you a little taste of what a great time we had:

Doesn't that look like fun?! Hopefully I will have time to post all about our time over the weekend...I may have to split it up for fear that my fingers and eyes may get tired! Until then, enjoy!

Lions & Tigers & Bears....Oh Zoo!

Actually, on this particular visit to the Zoo we did not see any bears, but I am sure there was at least ONE bear somewhere in the HUGE mess of people we dealt with that day! We (my Mom and I) chose a super-busy day to take Boston and Ainsley to the Zoo. In fact, it was SOOO busy that the entire Zoo parking lot was full and we were directed over to a field across the street. I guess it was okay because they didn't charge to park, but then again we have a Membership (thanks to Keith's Dad and StepMom, thanks guys!) and therefore we would not have had to pay anyway! Oh well, I think that Boston has always wanted to "off road" in his stroller :) Here is me and my little man before we headed in to the packed Zoo. (Notice the field we parked in).

I was so happy to get the Zoo membership for Christmas because I knew that we would use the heck out of it when summer came, and we plan to! Actually, we are heading back to the Zoo tomorrow with Daddy this time. We have gone a couple times in the past and Boston has enjoyed it, but it was not until this visit with my Mom and Ainsley that he really enjoyed it. It was so fun to watch him laugh at all the animals. He became so tickled at one point while watching the deer with stripes, not sure what they were ...sue me I am not a zoologist! Anyway, he was so tickled that I could not help but crack up myself. Here are some of his favs from the day:

The Lions! Right here they seem pretty lazy, but at one point a male lion was actually roaring! I thought that Boston might be scared but he just looked with such curiosity. The Elephants definitely amused him. I also showed him how to use his arm to make a trunk and he was trying to imitate me...I love his age right now!
It was hard to get a great picture of the giraffes because there was a REALLY tall family in front of us that would not move! Even the children were tall! I found this so funny that a tall family was blocking the tallest animal in the Zoo. Then again, I am easily amused :)
Here are the things that were Boston's MOST favorite of this day. Are these Antelope? I know that they are not simply striped deer, right? Whatever they were, B gave them 2 thumbs up!
I forgot to mention that while we were there it began to rain for a short period of time. Luckily, we were inside having lunch when the shower began. This is B's reaction to the rain...
Finally, the Tall's left and we had a clear view of the Giraffes.
So intense isn't he?!
I don't remember what were we looking at here....
Here he is laughing at those darn deer things again! Someone please let me know what they were so I can teach my son the proper name :)
Although you can't tell from these photos, we did go with Ainsley and Grammie. However, Ainsley took advantage of being strolled around all afternoon and took herself a great nap! Silly girl! Oh well, Boston enjoyed it for the both of them! I can't wait for Keith to see how much he enjoys it!

Thanks Hank and Linda for the Zoo Membership!
